TY - JOUR AU - Universitas Mataram, Pusat Komputer AU - pertanian, fakultas PY - 2018/02/26 TI - VALIDASI MATEMATIK MODEL SWEENEY: SUATU MODEL MEKANISTIK PERTUMBUHAN SELADA JF - AGROTEKSOS; Vol 7 No 3 (1997): JURNAL ILMIAH AGROTEKSOS 1997 KW - N2 - ABSTRAK                 Pendekatan model-model mekanistik untuk menerangkan faktor masukan yang berperan pada pertumbuhan selada dan efeknya terhadap praktis agronomisnya telah banyak dikembangkan,  baik melalui kajian rumah kaca maupun lapangan.  Satu diantaranya adalah model mekanistik Sweeney et al .  (1981) yang memprediksi cukup baik hasil selada,  namun kurang baik dalam memprediksi luas daun.  Adopsi model ini pada kondisi Australia ternyata tidak memberikan hasil prediksi yang memuaskan.  Atas dasar keterbatasan-keterbatasan model Sweeney tersebut,  kemudian diupayakan untuk mencari suatu model mekanistik yang dapat mengakomodasi cakupan kondisi yang lebih luas,  baik untuk rumah kaca maupun di lapang yang lebih beragam.  Studi optimasi telah dilakukan dengan melakukan modifikasi model.  Hasil yang diperoleh ternyata memberikan akurasi prediksi yang jauh lebih baik dari model aslinya.   ABSTRACT                 An approach using mechanistic models to explain the effects of input variables on lettuce growth and its impacts to agronomic practices has been developed,  either for glasshouse or for field condition.  A such model was proposed by Sweeney et al.  (1981) .  The model claims that it can predict well lettuce yields;  however,  it is fail to predict leaf area.  When we tried to adapt the model to Australian field grown lettuce,  we found that a major problem is associated with the underlying mathematical process of the model.  The problem centres around the assumptions used to generate daily updates.  Based upon the mathematical critiques of the model,  we try to validate and to reconstruct a mechanistic model that can be applied in various conditions for both glasshouse and field,  by modifying the Sweeney model.  The results show that the modified model can predict both yield and leaf area of lettuce much better than the original one.
