Abstract
Vaname shrimp is one of the leading commodities in the fisheries sector. Vaname shrimp farming provides a significant income for shrimp farmers, so it deserves special attention. In vaname shrimp farming, the motivation of vaname shrimp farmers is very important to ensure the sustainability of this business. Therefore, there are two objectives in this study, namely: (1) to analyze the level of motivation of vaname shrimp farmers in Bayan District, and (2) to analyze the factors that influence the level of motivation of vaname shrimp farmers in Bayan District. This study was conducted in Bayan District, North Lombok Regency, considering that this area is one of the shrimp production centers in North Lombok Regency. The respondents in this study were 31 vaname shrimp farmers, with the number of respondents determined using the Slovin method. The analysis methods used were the motivation percentage index method and multiple linear analysis. Based on the results of the study, the motivation level of vaname shrimp farmers was very high, namely 91.66%. The highest source of motivation came from the internal environment of vaname shrimp farmers, which was 83.87%. The factors that significantly influence the level of motivation are: education (X1), experience (X2), capital sources (X4), and age (X5). Meanwhile, the factors that do not influence the level of motivation are: number of dependents (X3) and income (X6).
